Community Dye Garden at Beltrami Park

In the spring of 2023, I became a Minneapolis Park Steward by designing, planting, maintaining and creating activities for a community dye garden.

This garden had a mix of 20+ annual and perennial plants can all be used to create color. In summer and into the fall of 2023, I created free weekly activities for neighbors and friends to participate in to explore ways to make color out of these plants. Children and adults could participate and gain an appreciation for these plants.

After 3 years of the dye garden, I will pass the reigns to a master gardener to create another neighborhood garden in Spring 2026.
